š Ely Cathedral Christmas Gift & Food Fair ā Ely Cathedral
A centrepiece of the festive season, the Cathedralās nave and grounds transform into a winter wonderland with over eighty boutique stalls, a vintage carousel and a 35m high observation wheel. From Thur 20 ā Sat 22 Nov the fair is open in sessions (mornings, afternoons and an evening shopping slot) with tickets from Ā£8. Sip mulled wine, browse the expanded Festive Village and enjoy a birdāsāeye view of Ely; itās the perfect start to Christmas.
šØ FoilāEmbossed Christmas Garland Workshop ā Aldreth Village Hall
Get crafty on Friday 21 November, 6pm ā 9pm at this creative workshop led by local artist Lizzie Ault. Youāll learn foilāembossing techniques to design a beautiful Christmas garland; all materials are provided and places are limited. Booking is essential (tickets are Ā£25, materials and refreshments included). A warm, social evening where youāll leave with a handmade decoration and festive cheer.
š Rackham Christmas Market ā Rackham C of E Primary School
Littleportās Rackham Primary School hosts its first Christmas market on Sunday 23 November from 1pm. Expect stalls selling handmade gifts, treats and crafts plus a special visit from Father Christmas. Itās free to enter and a great way to support a local school while getting a head start on festive shopping.

Rewind to the era of neon and synths at this retro party night on Saturday 22 November, 9pm. The DJ will be spinning the biggest hits of the 1980s for a lively dance floor; members pay £4, guests £6. Throw on your leg warmers, grab a cocktail and enjoy an evening of pure nostalgic fun with friends.
š Ballroom & Latin with The Umbrella Big Band ā HIAM Sports & Social Club
Dust off your dancing shoes for a blackātie optional evening of ballroom, Latin and some sequence dancing. The Umbrella Big Band plays three sets from 7:30pm to 10:30pm on Saturday 22 November with doors open from 7pm. Tickets Ā£15 in advance include a superb semiāsprung dance floor, licensed bar and raffle. Whether you dance or simply enjoy the music, itās an elegant night out.
š Witchford Pickleball ā Witchford Village College
On Saturday 22 November at 6pm turn up for this fast-growing, fun racket sport at Witchford Village College (just outside Ely). All levels are welcome, equipment provided; just wear trainers and bring a bottle of water. Coached by a qualified Pickleball England instructor, the session blends beginner tips with casual matches.

The city of Ely came together in an āoutstandingā display of community spirit for the Remembrance Sunday service. The city of Ely came together in large numbers to pay their respects, with youth organisations excelling and an emotional cascade of poppies filling the cathedral. The Royal British Legion chairman praised the cityās incredible support and the generosity shown during the Poppy Appeal, highlighting the deep community bonds that make Ely so special.

A huge congratulations to Adriana Zarzu, who has been promoted to Head Chef at Hilton Park Care Home in Ely. Having joined as second chef in 2022, her passion and dedication to creating nutritious and enjoyable meals for residents have been deservedly recognised. Itās a heartwarming story of personal growth and a testament to the supportive environment at the care home.
