  •  🥕 Ely Charter & Farmers Market – Market Place

    The weekly Charter Market fills the city centre with seasonal produce, flowers, artisan bread and household goods. On Thursday 25 September (8:30am - 3:30pm) and Saturday 27 September (with a Farmers’ Market from 8:30am – 3:30pm) the stalls overflow with fresh fruit, veggies, meats and bakes. There’s also a Sunday Market on 28 September (9am – 3pm).

  • 🐾 Animal Service – Ely Cathedral Nave

    Bring your pets, from dogs and cats to hamsters or a photo of a beloved pet to Ely Cathedral’s annual Animal Service. The Imps children’s choir leads joyful hymns while clergy bless animals and give thanks for Earth’s creatures. Donations support local animal charities. Sunday 28 September, 2pm and it’s free to attend. It’s a feel‑good afternoon celebrating our furry companions.

  • 😂 The Best in Comedy – The Maltings

    Get ready for a night of laughter on Friday 26 September at 8pm, featuring a stellar line-up of comedians including Taskmaster champion Sam Campbell and Live at the Apollo star Josh Pugh. This popular comedy night is sure to sell out, so grab your friends for a hilarious start to the weekend. Tickets are £22.50.

  • 🐕 Dog Show – Willow Grange Farm, Chittering

    Paws at the ready! Willow Grange hosts its first ever Dog Show with friendly classes, trader stalls for treats and gear, and a fun ‘have-a-go’ ring. Expect puppacinos, activities and plenty of wagging tails on Sunday 28 September, 11am – 3pm. Make a day of it just south of Ely and bring the whole family. See you in the ring!

  • 🎃 Soham Pumpkin Fair – Soham Recreation Ground

    Celebrate the harvest at this beloved annual fair in Soham on Saturday 27 September from 1pm. Marvel at giant pumpkins, enjoy ferret racing, and browse charity stalls. With a children’s fancy dress competition, live music, and a funfair, it’s a fantastic day out for the whole family. Don’t miss the grand auction!

  • 📔 Sketchbook Diaries Adult Craft Workshop – Ely Museum

    Unleash your creativity and learn how to create a beautiful sketchbook diary in this hands-on workshop on Saturday 27 September at 10am. Guided by a local artist, you’ll explore different techniques for capturing memories and observations through drawing, writing, and collage. All materials are provided for this inspiring session. Booking is essential.

  •  City Celebrates its Unsung Heroes

    The recent Ely Hero Awards celebrated the city’s community champions who make a difference every day.
